Job Description for Public Outreach Coordinator

Assembly Officers for a three year term
Purpose of
position:
To encourage
participation in Public Outreach activities and provide information to members
to assist them in initiating PO activities in their districts.
Qualifications:
- Active Al-Anon
Member
- Interested in
unifying services in the Area at the public level
- Familiar with
the guidelines and knowledge of the three legacies
- Familiar with
the Service Manual
- Good computer skills
- Access to and
ability to use the Internet
- Good oral and
written communication skills
Suggested Role
and Responsibilities:
- Cooperate with
the Professional Community as a link for the WSO, the Area, Districts, Groups
and AIS, regarding Al-Anon and Alateen.
- Keeps in touch
with the Delegate
- Keeps in contact
with members doing Public Information work
- Motivates and
encourages Districts and AIS’s to form Public Outreach committees.
- Distributes
service projects and information from WSO to the Districts and encourages them
to pass it along to the groups.
- Submits articles
to the area newsletter regularly to share information with the members.
- Requests reports
of public outreach activities from the Districts to share with the Assembly and
WSO.
- Attends Officers
Coordinators meetings, AWSCM and Assembly
- Produces a
written report to the Area Secretary for inclusion in the packages for AWSCM
and Assembly .
- Participates in
telephone conference calls with other Public Outreach coordinators in North
America as scheduled by the World Service Office.
-utilizes the
BC/Yukon website to distribute information to members
- When term is completed, passes over the material to the next Coordinator as soon as possible and shares experiences and recommendations.
