Draft Guidelines of Job Description of March 2002

Position:  Archives Coordinator

 

Appointed for a three year term

 

Qualifications:

 

-         An active Al-Anon Member

-         An interest in the history of Al-Anon

-         A willingness to travel to rallies, round-ups and conventions to display the Archives

-         Access to a computer very helpful.

 

Suggested Role and Responsibilities:

 

-         Selects a committee to be responsible for establishing policies and procedures about use of the Archives.

-         Selects an Alternate.

-         Keeps history of Al-Anon/Alateen groups in the BC/Yukon Area.

-         Keeps copies of the minutes of AWSCM, Assembly and Officers meetings.

-         Collects pictures of interest

-         Searches out and keeps records of all active Al-Anon/Alateen members who have been in the program 25+ years.

-         Attends Al-Anon/Alateen/AA functions, when invited, to display Archives.  The group or District who has invited the Coordinator will pay costs for travel.

-         Submit a written report to the Area Secretary for inclusion in the packets for AWSCM and Assembly.

-         Writes articles for the Bulletin to generate Archival interest, quarterly.

-         Preserves the heritage of the past by interviewing member on tape, when possible.

-         When term is over, passes on the material land shares experiences and recommendations with new Coordinator as soon as possible.
